My Name is Laurie. I'm 29. The big 3-0 is approaching FAST! I am married to a wonderful guy named David, and we live in Lewisville, Texas- just North of Dallas for those of you wondering. I love my family, friends, our two "puppies," and All Things French. I love to write- I was a Journalism and Mass Communications major after all. Blue is my favorite color. As you all know, I am participating this Saturday in the Race for the Cure this Saturday in Dallas with my husband Dave and our wonderful team. I am waiting for a few more donations to come through, but then should be almost to goal. Thank you to my friends who are already supporting me. Tonight I learned about these Discover & Download widgets that you can place on your websites and blogs. It's a fabulous idea to help Diane Birch sell her new album, Bible Belt, and she is also giving $1 of each album sold through the widgets to Susan G. Komen.

Even neater is the contest for the person that generates the most revenue for their charity through their widget by June 23. That person will win a FREE PRIVATE PERFORMANCE in the winner’s hometown!! If Komen is not your charity of choice, there are five others that you can raise money for. This is such a neat idea! What do you think?

I missed the $1 flip flop bonanza last Saturday, but typically they have been completely sold out (or limitted sizes and colors) by the time I got there in year’s passed. I just wanted to leave a post here letting you guys know that I have updated my WordPress blog at http://laviedelaurie.com to a new version (2.7) and it does not support the plugin that was crossposting my entries from there to here.

Until there is another solution, you might want to bookmark me in your favorites on your browser. I hope you will still come by to visit me from time to time.

I'm known for being the budget fashionista, so I couldn't believe it when I found $8 perscription glasses awhile back on zennioptical.com!

You're probably asking yourself how can they be so cheap? They sell direct to their customers. There is no middleman, so the savings gets passed on to you. 4th-Jul-2008 01:09 am - Frisco Freedom Fest 2008
Happy 4th of July! Dave and I will be going to our first Frisco Freedom Fest tonight. They are doing several concerts (Freddy and The Temptations) and a big fireworks display at Pizza Hut Park. Luckily for us it is only a few minutes away. I am a little scared about how bad traffic is going to be to and from the stadium. I’m also a little sad because our first year away from Lewisville. Hopefully it will be a great night! I’ll post pictures later this weekend. Hope everyone has a great holiday!
